MISSION: To provide an opportunity for young girl's to learn the game of lacrosse in a fun environment from the top coaches and players in the game!
WHY: Lacrosse is the fastest growing female sport in the United States. We want to encourage more girl's to play lacrosse at a younger age. Our grass roots program will emphasize fundamentals and small space play which will promote and create excitement for the sport among our local area girls.
Skill development: Stations will focus on fundamental skills (passing, catching, cradling, ground balls, shooting) in a fun environment.
"In House" games: Small space scrimmage play will emphasize use of fundamentals, ball movement (pass rules in effect), field spacing, and beginning game concepts. Girl's will be divided into teams and will have weekly "In House" games.
*1st - 3rd graders: Small field, 3 x 3 cages, no goalies, games will be 4 v 4.
*4th - 5th graders: Increased field size, 3 x 3 cages and regular size cages intruduced. Games will be 6 v 6.
COACHES: University of North Carolina Coach Jenny Levy and Logan Ripley, some current players, club players and experienced volunteers.
